CAT- Certified Accounting Technician
 
 
What is it?

The CAT scheme compromises of a combination of exams and practical experience. It is designed to equip students with technical skills and acknowledge necessary to fulfil an accounting role up to technical level. This enables students to progressively acquire the core skills required before advancing to higher level of accounting.


Who is it for?

The CAT course is designed for individual without an accounting background. It is suitable for those who wish to start a career in accounting or finance, or gain recognition for the skills and experience they already have, or those who wish to progress into more senior position in accounting.

Introductory Intermediate Advanced In addition, two option from following

  • Recording Financial Transactions
  • Information for Management Control


  • Maintaining Financial Records
  • Accounting for Costs


  • Managing People & Systems
  • Drafting Financial Statements
  • Planning, Control & Performance Management



  • Implementing Audit Procedures
  • Preparing Taxation Computations
  • Managing Finances



Prerequisites

None other than one of the following levels of proficiency in the English Language:


English Language Requirements

  • IELTS 5.5
  • TOEFL 550 (TOEIC 776)
  • GCSE/ ‘O’ level or its International Equivalent

Mode of Assessment

Five Written exams and four computer based exams


Awarding Body

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants


What next ?

Qualified students can further their career prospects by progressing onto ACCA or CIMA professional schemes, or by enrolling onto relevant graduate and postgraduate degrees.
