Introduction The overall aim of the qualification is to accredit the knowledge and skills of candidates relevant to the fundamentals of financial management relating to the small enterprise. Candidates have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills associated with the key financial management tasks to be performed by those operating small firms. Specifically, they should be able to perform tasks relating to the keeping of records, VAT, payroll, the preparation and interpretation of final accounts, taxation, costing and pricing of products, management of working capital and financial planning and control. Aims of the Course Candidates should be able to:
- Develop an understanding of fundamental, financial management activities.
- Develop the skills to perform some of the routine, financial record-keeping tasks.
- Develop the skills to perform a range of key financial management tasks.
- Understand the importance of accuracy in performing financial record keeping and management tasks.
- Upon completion, progress in their learning to further develop their knowledge, understanding and skills.
Prerequisites In order to satisfy the entrance requirements, all candidates must be at least 18 years of age or above. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. It is advisable for candidates to have ability in arithmetic to embarking on study for this qualification. Alternatively, they should have comparable prior knowledge and skills acquired through paid or voluntary work experience. English Language Requirements

Qualification Awarded When qualified candidate will be awarded with the certificate for successful of IAB Diploma in Small Business Financial Management. Mode of Assessment All diploma units have an associated, practical assignment, each one being externally set by the IAB. Each of the eight units will be internally marked by centres. This qualification has been designed to provide the essential knowledge, understanding and skills required to complement and enable candidates to progress to other related qualifications, such as the Higher National Diploma in Business, foundation and bachelor degree in Accounting, finance related courses, many of which are also offered by London Essex College Duration 12-18 Months, Full Time/Weekdays/ Morning |
