Introduction This qualification is primarily designed for those taking responsibility for legal matters in a small business. It is also designed for those providing advice to small businesses such as Accountants, Book-keepers and Business Advisors. Aims of the Course This qualification is designed to provide candidates with :
- An understanding of the English Legal System, specifically, the legislative process, the court structure and the legal profession. Candidates will also gain a good understanding of the impact of European Union membership on the English Legal System.
- An understanding of the nature and principles of contractual obligations under the English Legal System. Specifically, candidates will be able to understand the importance of specialist terms in a contract and their consequences.
- An understanding of the nature of civil liability under the English Legal System. Specifically, students will be able to understand the nature of liability in Negligence (including Professional Negligence) and be able to identify the defences and remedies available in the court.
- An understanding of the legal relationship that exist between employer and employee and the relevant Employment legislation in the UK. nting, payroll and other financial skills.
Prerequisites In order to satisfy the entrance requirements, all candidates must be at least 18 years of age or above. Candidates are not required to have any legal knowledge or skills to be able to study this unit. The only requirement is that candidates can communicate through written work and take responsibility for their studies. Alternatively, they should have comparable prior knowledge and skills acquired through paid or voluntary work experience. English Language Requirements
- IELTS 5.5 (minimum)
- TOEFL 550 (TOEIC 776)
Qualification Awarded When qualified candidate will be awarded with the certificate for successful of IAB Diploma in Business Law.. Mode of Assessment All diploma units will be assessed through one externally set and marked three hours examination consisting of four compulsory written questions each linked to one more of the four learning outcomes. The qualification has been designed to provide the essential legal knowledge, understanding and skills required to complement and enable candidates to progress to other related qualifications such as the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX), Higher National Diploma in Business Law, foundation and bachelor degree in Law, many of which are also offered by London Essex College Duration 12-18 Months, Full Time/Weekdays/ Morning |
