The taught courses, certificates, diplomas, pre-graduate and postgraduate diploma programmes lead to the undergraduate and postgraduate degree qualification. They provide a structured organisation of programmes at LEC i.e. the students registering for a Certificate course can extend it to Diploma and then degree level. These courses are designed to meet the requirements of individuals working or intending to work in industry and commerce. Many students also undertake these courses in preparation to study for a graduate, postgraduate and research degree. Certified and qualified instructors deliver all LEC courses; Most of them are specialist in delivering international standard qualification, which creates an aura of productive and innovative learning in the classrooms, all teachers are well versed of how to deal with a multi-cultural class.
Assessment is generally by a combination of course-works, dissertation, and examination. Most taught courses are offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. The courses for part-time students are designed to meet the needs of employed individuals so that they may attend the institute on a release scheme, thus minimising the interruption to their normal employment. As a general guide, full-time courses extend over one calendar year, while part-time courses involve study for two or more.
